Egg-truck crash on Interstate 70

image_pdfimage_print
Had a little “egg-citement” out on the interstate on Thursday, March 12: A west-bound¬†tractor-trailer carrying a load of eggs crashed into the embankment about two miles east of the Silverthorne exit, tearing open the trailer like a sardine can and sending most of the load flying. The cab hit so hard that the drive shaft augured into the hillside; amazingly, the driver walked away with only minor injuries. The crash occurred about 11:15 a.m. and reduced westbound traffic to a single lane for three hours while cleanup was occurring.
